Udyam Registration FAQs

Udyam Registration is the new process for MSME registration launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It replaced the earlier systems of MSME registration (Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum) and provides a permanent registration number with a dynamic QR code for verification.

The main documents required are PAN card of the business/owner, Aadhaar card of the owner, business address proof, bank account details, and basic information about the nature of business and investment in plant & machinery/equipment. No physical documents need to be submitted as the process is completely online.

The registration is usually completed within 1-2 working days after submission of all required details. The Udyam Registration Certificate is generated immediately upon successful verification and can be downloaded from the portal.

The government does not charge any fee for Udyam Registration. However, professional services like ours may charge a nominal fee for document preparation, application filing, and follow-up services to ensure smooth registration.
